Trash Vendor.  In an effort to reduce the number of waste disposal vendors servicing our community, the board has negotiated agreements with two of the area’s largest waste disposal vendors.  Participation in either deal is completely optional, but either offer should reduce the cost of trash removal and help reduce the number of trucks coming through our neighborhood.  Click here for more information. (Added April 7, 2011)

Community Picnic.  The Annual Cabell’s Mill Picnic will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 3pm to sundown. Last year’s picnic was a huge success and we hope to have a fantastic turnout again this year. Mark the date and bring the entire family. Get to mingle with old friends and get to meet new neighbors. This is the one time during the year that everyone can shed stay-at-home-itis and get out and have a good time.  Rain date is September 25th.  Fingerprinting will be done by the police again this year from 3-6pm.  (Updated July 19, 2011)

Cabell's Mill R-TAP Program.  The CMCA Board of Directors and Traffic Calming Taskforce are proceeding with their ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in the community for residents and their families, as well as for commuters and the general public.  CMCA has continued to make progress toward improving traffic safety with the cooperation of local public officials and the Fairfax County Department of Transportation. The focus of the traffic improvement is concentrated upon Cabell's Mill Drive between Northbourne Drive and Walney Road.  A plan to improve the flow and safety of traffic through Cabell's Mill has been proposed  by R-TAP program officials, after a thorough topographical survey of the affected streets, intersections and residences. The recommended traffic calming proposal was voted on and approved by the residences in the petition area.

A request was sent to VDOT with an approved map and speed hump was installed and completed in August 2008. (Updated August 31, 2008)
